My name is Brigitte Schmitz-Kirschbaum and I would like to introduce myself and my paintings!
I paint abstract pictures and combine techniques and materials again and again. My techniques are oil and acrylic painting, encaustic (wax painting), painting with resin, collages, gel printing, cyanotype and metal etching. I prefer to use different techniques and materials in one painting because I find the endless design possibilities in mixed media very exciting.
I find my ideas in nature. It offers an infinite variety of motifs, materials, colors and textures. I prefer the abstract representation to give the viewer the opportunity to engage with the image and let their own thoughts flow.
